Identify the exact laptop first
Use the model and product number from the device or manufacturer support information. Similar-looking laptops can have different motherboards, storage connectors and memory limits. Do not publish your device serial number in public comments when asking for help.
RAM must match the supported specification
Check the supported generation, form factor, maximum capacity and number of available slots. DDR4 and DDR5 modules are not interchangeable. Some laptops have soldered memory that cannot be replaced. More memory helps when current workloads run out of RAM; it does not fix every performance problem.
M.2 describes a form factor, not one interface
An M.2 drive may use SATA or PCIe/NVMe, and physical lengths can differ. A 2.5-inch SATA SSD also needs the correct bay and connector. Confirm the interface, dimensions and any required mounting hardware against manufacturer documentation before ordering.
Back up before changing storage
Keep a separate, verified copy of important files before replacing or cloning a drive. Check encryption and recovery-key requirements, software licences and available installation media. A new empty SSD does not include your operating system or transfer your files automatically.
Check warranty and installation requirements
Read the device warranty and service documentation before opening it. If you are unsure about compatibility or installation, ask for advice with the exact model and the proposed part. Confirm any installation or transfer service and its price separately; a component listing alone does not include those services.
Check the current listing before ordering
These are general buying considerations. Exact compatibility, condition, prices and warranty depend on the listed item. Browse the current catalogue, compare products or ask Ezam about your requirements.
